The Dakota County Board will hold a public meeting on March
24 , 1987 at 8:30 A.M. in the Dakota County Board Room
at the Govt. Center- in Hastings, Minnesota to discuss the
proposal of Koch Pipelines, Inc. to construct a new pipeline
in Dakota County. The pipeline will be approximately 17
miles long beginning at the Koch Refinery in Pine Bend,
Rosemount, Minnesota and going in a southerly and easterly
direction to the Minnesota -Wisconsin border.
The route of the pipeline construction will be in the City
of Rosemount, in section 34 in Nininger Township, sections,
1, 2, and 3 in Vermillion Township, in sections 1, 2, 3,
4, 5, 6 in Marshan Township and sections 5, 6, and 32 in
Ravenna Township. Construction will begin in the center
of Dakota County at the Koch Refinery. The pipeline will
run south for several miles and then easterly to the Minnesota -
Wisconsin border and will parallel the existing pipeline.
The pipeline will cross state highway 56 and run south
crossing county roads 38 and 42. The pipeline will then
run in a easterly and southerly direction crossing county
roads 48, 85 and 47. The pipeline will continue in an
easterly direction crossing state highways 61 and 316 and
county -roads 91 and 54 and proceed northeasterly crossing
the Minnesota River into Wisconsin. The pipeline will
also cross. the Vermillion River in section 6 of Marshan
Township.
Any persons interested in commenting on the proposed pipeline
construction may do so at this public meeting. Copies
of the Information Book explaining the project may be examined
from 8:00 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. on Monday through Friday in
the office of the Dakota County Auditor,,. in Hastings,
Minnesota.
The agenda for the meeting will consist of a discussion
of the project by Koch Pipelines, Inc., comments by represen-
tatives of state agencies authorized to issue permits required
for the construction and operation of the pipeline including
the Environmental Quality Board. Comments will be accepted
from members of the public who wish to present their views
on the proposed pipeline and questions will be answered.
