RE: PUBLIC WORKS RELATED ITEMS FOR JUNE 2, 1987 COUNCIL MEETING
OLD BUSINESS
6 a. improve Additional Construction -Jay Simon's Addition/130th Street
Project
The Jay Simon Addition/130th Street Project is basically complete with
regard to the contract plans and documents. There are a few minor
punch list items that the Contractor will have to resolve. However,
there are several issues that were.not addressed in the plans and
specifications that I feel should be addressed to complete this job
properly. For the most part, this extra work involves top soiling and
seeding with some sod placement and some miscellaneous bituminous
spillway constructions and minor ditch work. Frank Bodine, our
Consulting Engineers Inspector, has estimated the additional work to
be about $11,300.00.
Steve Campbell of our Consulting Engineering firm will be present to
explain why these items were not included in the original plan.
6 b. Approve Final Payment/Accept Utilities -West Ridge 1st Addition
I had scheduled this for consideration this evening, however, due to
the contractor making a mistake on his final payment application and
the fact that there are a couple items to clean up on this project I
am recommending that this item be for Councils information only.
6 c. Approve Final Payment/Accept Streets -West Ridge 1st Addition
All work for the street improvement project within the West Ridge 1st
Addition has been completed and inspected. The street work is
acceptable and I would therefore recommend that the Council approve
the second and final payment to McNamara Contracting Company in the
amount of $2,674.71 and to accept the streets for perpetual
maintenance.
NEW BUSINESS
7 g. Set Public Hearing -Hawkins Pond Storm Sewer Improvements
Because of the Shannon Park Improvement Project which will discharge
storm water runoff into Hawkins Pond area and in anticipation of the
Country Hills 3rd Addition occurring in 1988, I am recommending that
we take a look at the Hawkins Pond Storm Sewer Project again. Because
of the long, mailing list, I would recommend .scheduling the meeting for
August 11, 1987 at 7:00 p.m.
