RE City Nall Construction
Payment Request #11 - $8,000
Gentlemen:
We have received (June l) a payment request #ll for $8,000 for work
completed on city hall. This is not for additional work completed, but
a decrease in the amount we were retaining for work completed but not
satisfied with previously.
Since many additional items have been redone such as the west wall in
the council chambers`, the amount retained after this payment is
sufficient to cover "items not yet completed satisfactorily. Therefore,
we recommend its approval:
There still remain several small 'items and the parking lot issue to be
resolved. Rich Hefti has recommended; and I have reinforced that
recommendation to the contractor, that the west lot should be replaced.
We have not heard from the contractor on that yet.
The council chambers wall was repaired, but we will want to see if it
maintains its good appearance and its ability to maintain that
appearance over a length of time.
All items under contract have a twelve month warranty. This may not be
as good as cash on hand, but we would be kidding ourselves if we tried
to hold cash back on all the items we "thought" might not prove to be
satisfactory.
Again, considering the work completed and the amount being retained, I
recommend the approval of this request #ll for $8,000.
