6a. Approve Plans & Specs/Authorize Bid Advertising - Connemara Trail
On April 28, 1987, Council held a public hearing and ordered in the
project to install street improvements to Connemara Trail, City project
#169. On that same night, Council also authorized a preparation of
plans and specifications. These plans and specifications are now
complete and are being brought to Council for their approval and
authorization to advertise for a bid opening. I would recommend
approval and holding the bid opening on Friday, July 30, 1987 at 11:00
a.m.
Connemara Trail is a designated MSA street thereby eligible for MSA
funds. In order to obtain these funds the State aid division of MNdot
must approve these plans. I anticipate obtaining approval by August 4,
1987 so that we may award the contract. However, in the event the
processing through state aid takes somewhat longer than the four weeks
I anticipate, Council can award the contract contingent to obtaining
the necessary state aid approvals. With Council's approval of these
plans, I will instruct our consulting engineers to immediately send
them to MNdot to begin the review process. Because this project is
relatively straightforward, I do not anticipate any problems with the
MSA review.
Attached is a copy of the resolution you will need to adopt.

A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS
AND AUTHORIZING ADVERTISEMENT OF BIDS C�
FOR STREET AND UTILITY CONSTRUCTION FOR
CONNEMARA TRAIL

WHEREAS, pursuant to a resolution passed by the Rosemount City Council on
the 28th day of April, 1987, the City Engineer did prepare plans and
specifications for the construction of street and utility improvements to
the area known as Connemara Trail and has presented these plans and I
specifications to the Rosemount City Council for approval.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Rosemount
hereby approves the Engineer's final plans and specifications for street and
utility construction on Connemara Trail; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Rosemount hereby
authorizes the City Administrator/Clerk to prepare and cause to be inserted
in the official city newspaper an advertisement for bids upon the making of
such improvements under such approved plans and specifications. The
advertisement shall be published as required in Minnesota Statutes 429 and
shall specify the work to be completed and shall state the time and place of
the opening of these bids and the time and place that the City Council will
consider these bids.
No bids will be considered unless sealed and filed with the City
Administrator/Clerk and accompanied by a cash deposit, cashier's check, bid
bond or certified check payable to the City of Rosemount in the amount if
five (5%) percent of the bid submitted.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that said plans and specifications be placed on file
in the office of the City Administrator/Clerk.
