5b. Accept Bids/Award Contract 1987-5, Connemara Trail Street Improvements
Staff opened bids for City Contract 1987-5, Connemara Trail Street
Improvements, on Friday, July 31, 1987 at 11:00 a.m. Council approved
the plans and authorized bid opening at the July 7, 1987 meeting.
Attached is a list of the bids submitted. Apparent tow bidder is
McNamara Contracting at $116,010..82.
Because Connemara Trail is designated on our MSA system we have
submitted our plans through the State Aid Division for their approval.
The District State Aid Engineer has approved these plans and they are
now at the Central Office State Aid Division for final approval. Ue
may not receive final approval by Tuesday but we should receive it
shortly. Therefore, I would recommend that Council accept the bids and
award the contract subject to State Aid approval for Connemara Trail
Street Improvements to the lowest responsible bidder, McNamara
Contracting, in the amount of $116,010.82 and authorize the Mayor and
City Clerk to execute the related contract documents.
