RE: Old City Hall - Water Supply
I have been in contact with Don McGuire of Dakota County AVTI concerning
the water supply at the old city hall and in regards to their expected
opening date.
Don advised me that they plan on opening on August 24th of this year.
The plan is that they will be providing services for students for the
fall session. At this time ifonewere to visit the site, one would
question that date. gut, as we all know, putting the final touches on
to get to the point of being, able to use a facility can go rather
quickly.
- Don and I discussed the water supply, and he advised me that he would
prefer to have DCAVTI go get the water tests done and that he would see
to that. He also stated that he felt that if necessary the facility
would use bottled water for this school year for drinking purposes
rather than have the city spend money on drilling a well deeper or
making a connection across the highway until we have made a decision on
the rural water system.
All meals will. be prepared at DCAVTI and brought to the daycare
facility. Only small amounts of drinking water would be needed for
human consumption purposes, and he was willing, at his suggestion, to
use bottled water for that purpose.
I would recommend at this time that we proceed with this approach and
continue our work on the rural water system with service to the old city
hall as one of our needs in that system.
