Easement Payments for Shannon Parkway. Proiects 168 & 171
Dave Grannis, City Attorney, and myself are dealing with the property
owners in obtaining the necessary easements for the construction of the
Shannon Parkway Street Improvement Project. We have obtained most of
the easements and/or rights of entry, however there are a few remaining
that are requesting some compensation for the easement taking.
Therefore, in order to assist us in negotiating with these people, I
would like to request Councils authorization to offer them a monetary
compensation up to $8,500.00 per acre for permanent easements. This
figure comes from the appraisal the City had done for Shannon Park
right-of-way north of 145th Street on the Richard and Emmett Carroll
property.
I would also like authorization to use the $8,500.00 figure in
determining a cost for temporary easements, that being 10% for one year
or $850.00 per acre.
I will be available at the Council meeting on September 15, 1987 to
answer any questions Council may have regarding this matter.
