RE: City Limits Lanes & Lounge - Change of Ownership
City Limits Lanes & Lounge, formerly Diamond Lake Rosemount, will be
under new ownership and officers effective December 1, 1987, Our liquor
ordinance requires council approval when officers or ownership interest
of corporations change.
Joseph and Jean Doyle will be the new owners of City Limits. As most of
you know and as stated in their attorney's letter of October 22, 1987,
they are the daughterandson-in-law of the previous owners. You will
also find attached the background information provided by their attorney
as well as Chief Staats' background investigation report.
Steve Jilk and I have discussed this request and recommend approval.
This item is listed under the consent calendar for your consideration.

RE: Liquor License Background Investigation (Joseph/Jean Doyle)
Background investigation has been completed on Joseph Doyle which
turned up a numerous amount of driving violations; some of which
are alcohol related. Since 1985 he has no violations.
The violations that have been charged against Mr. Doyle should not
prevent him from being able to secure a liquor license because
none of these charges are Liquor Tax violations, selling/procuring
liquor to/for minors or "bootlegging"
Jean Doyle is clear of violations.

Re: On -Sale Intoxicating Liquor License
issued to City Limits Lanes and
Lounge, Inc. (Formerly Known as
Diamond Lake Rosemount, Inc.)
Ladies and Gentlemen:
As legal counsel for the above -referenced licensee and pursuant
to Section 3-1-9 C. of the Rosemount City Code, we do hereby request
approval of the City Council to a change in officers and ownership of the
licensee to be effective on December 1, 1987.
The current owner of all of the issued and outstanding stock of
the licensee is Diamond Lake Fun Centers, Inc., whose stock is owned by
James E. Madden, Joan C. Madden and Ambrose Weeres, Jr. The present
officers of the licensee are James E. Madden, President and Treasurer, and
Joan C. Madden, Vice President and Secretary.
On December 1, 1987, it is intended that Joseph A. Doyle and Jean
Doyle, husband and wife, shall acquire all of the issued and outstanding
stock of the licensee from Diamond Lake Fun Centers, Inc., and shall
thereupon assume the following offices of the licensee:
Joseph A. Doyle - President and Treasurer
Jean Doyle - Vice President and Secretary
Mr. and Mrs. Doyle will continue to act as the on-site managers of the
licensee.
Jean Doyle is the daughter of James E. Madden and Joan C. Madden.
Attached to this letter is the information required by Section 3-1-3-1 for
both Mr. and Mrs. Doyle. A check in the amount of $500.00 is enclosed
herewith for payment of the investigation fee.

For over 20 years, Jean M. Doyle's parents, James E. Madden and
Joan C. Madden, have been involved in the ownership and
management of bowling centers in the cities of Minneapolis, St.

Rochester, and Rosemount. Through their ownership of Diamond
Lake Fun Centers, Inc., they are currently involved in the
