SUBJECT: Appointment to Parks & Recreation C mudttee
This past month Dearma Simpson contacted my office in regards
to starting a garden club in Rosemount. She was also
interested in working on plants and flowers in the perks.
She accepted the invitation to attend the Committee meeting
in Aprilto discuss her plans with the (Committee Meiers. At
the meeting she `gave '.an in depth explanation of her plans.
They included: generating an interest in Rosemount for a
garden club, generating an interest at the sr. center for
seniors to beam involved in the perks, to get a project in
Schwarz Park started as soon as possible, to obtain
assistance from the Parks Department in the areas of labor
and finances.
Following her report she was invited to join the Committee as
a member. Her work schedule did not allow for her to attend
the meetings and she reluctantly declined the offer to join.
Since that date she has started her project in Schwarz Park.
She has also arranged for her employment to allow her to ;be
free on the`third Monday of each month'to attend the
Committee meetings.
She has asked to be considered as a`member tp`the Committee.
Based upon Oo mittee support I am writing this memo to
request your consideration to appointing Deanna to the
Committee to fill the one remaining vacancy.
