CALL TO ORDER: Elia,son called the meeting to order at 7:01 p.m. 1a.The oath office for Craig Nelson and Scott McDonald was performed. 2. ADDITIONS TO THE AGENDA: None 3. APPROVAL OF THE MAY 20,2017 MEETING MINiJTES: MOTION by Ferrell to approve the minutes of the March 20,2017 meeting. SECOND by Young. Ayes: 8 Nays: 0 Nelson Abstained Motion passed. 4. AUDIENCE INPUT: None 5. DISCUSSION (Response to Audience Input): None G. OLD BUSINESS: None 7. NEW BUSINESS: a. Receive Bids Award Contract—Gxeystone Pa,Yk Construction—Bids were received for the project on Tuesday,April 4, 2017,and were opened and read aloud.A total of eight bids were received. The bids were checked for mathematical accuracy and tabulated. Schultz presented the bids that were received for this project and felt good about the bids. Bartz asked if a fence is needed between the City Trail and the train tracks. Schultz with check with our risk management consulta.nts. MOTION by Ferrell to support the City Council in receiving the bids for the Greystone Park Construction and awarding the contract to the low bidder, Hoffinan&McNamara Inc., for the base bid of$281,379.20,bid alternate #1 at$14,448.50 and bid alternate #2 at$1,800.00 for a total price of$297,627.70. SECOND by Young Ayes: 9 Nays: 0 b. SKB PUD and Simple Plat-SKB has submitted a PUD and Simple Plat fox a Rerycling Center just east of their la,ndfill location on Rosemount's eastside.The site is 52 acres in size and is zoned as General Industrial.The City's Parks Master Plan does not identify a park in the a,rea, but does include a future regional trail on the south side of the property. Staff Yecommended the Commission support this development plan and recomxnend approval with the conditions that we collect a cash payment to satisfy the paxks dedication requirements and that thirty feet of additional right of way be provided to accommodate the trail on the south side of the property. Selection of Chair and Vice Chair—Fex�ell nominated Mike Eliason to be the chair of the Commission, Ayes: 9 Nays: 0 Eliason nominated Maureen Bartz to be the Vice Chair of the Commission Apes: 9 Nays: 0. d. Director's Report—The paxk improvement fund balance as of March 31,2017 was $578,576.74. Dedication fees were $217,600, no grants ox donations were received,and interest received was $117.06. There were expenditures of$10,735.90 for Greystone Park Pla.nning and bidding services. New Programs -The Parks &Recxeation Department will be hosting a new program this spring and summer at the Steeple Center: Easy Tai Chi. Thexe was a free trial class held on Tuesday, March 28 foY the program,with 13 people attending. Inver Grove Heights West Rink Ice—Schultz indicated that staff is in discussions with the staff from IGH Paxks and Recreation Department about R.AHA a��ning more ice at the west rink in IGH. In return for getting more ice, the City of Rosemount and R.AHA would need to help pay for repairs to the west rink. 8. ADJOURNMENT - MOTION by Bartz to adjourn the meeting. SECOND by Speich.
