Downtown Project Interactive Map EXECUTIVE SUMMARY Port Authority Date: July 18, 2017 AGENDA SECTION: AGENDA ITEM: Downtown Project Interactive Map New Business PREPARED BY: Logan Martin, Executive Director AGENDA NO. 4.a. Kim Lindquist, Deputy Director ATTACHMENTS: None. APPROVED BY: LJM RECOMMENDED ACTION: Information Item ISSUE Staff has been working with the Youth Commission to provide a webpage that highlights the Legacy Tree program that the Commission has implemented. The GIS Analyst has been able to link a map, written information, and a photo on the website for each of the tree planting locations. Staff is recommending a similar webpage for the successful Downtown Redevelopment projects. Please see link for the tree webpage: http://www.ci.rosemount.mn.us/legacy Staff would anticipate utilizing this new marketing tool to highlight both private and public projects that resulted in redevelopment and rehabilitation of Downtown properties. Therefore, projects such as the Steeple Center and The Rosemount would be displayed along with projects such as Fluegel’s and the First State Bank of Rosemount. In many cases we have photos that would allow the City to show before and after images. Details such as the square footage, number of units, site activities will be posted. Recent discussion at the Port Authority has surrounded the need to market both the development opportunities in the City along with the City’s success stories. Staff is excited to implement this tool, as it will be useful in conveying the City’s commitment to continued improvement, while marketing the City as a desirable place to invest and grow.
