RECOMMENDED ACTION: Motion to approve the Police Liaison Services
Agreement between the City of Rosemount and School District No. 196 for the 2017 –
2018 school year.
BACKGROUND
The Police Department provides liaison services at District No. 196 schools within the City. An
Officer is assigned full-time (40 hours per week) at Rosemount High School and ¼ time at
Rosemount Middle School.
ISSUE
District #196 provides funding to the City for providing of liaison services at the two public
schools. This funding is used to help offset a portion of the cost for the liaison officers. The liaison
officer position allows the Rosemount Police Department a link to connect with the youth of
Rosemount; to assist with educational programming and develop positive relationships with
students.
SUMMARY
Staff recommends that Council approve the agreement for police liaison services for the 2017 —
2018 school year.
