Below is a comment made by one of our participants following the event. We pride ourselves in an organized run and axe thxilled to receive a nice comment. "I just wanted to comment on the races from last Sat. I ran the 1-and 4-mile races. For$20, I thought it was two of the best races I have ever run and I have been racing for over 30 years. The shirts wexe great, course had water and mile markers every mile, lots of food and beverages at the finish and timely race results. I also thought it was nice to have so many age categories for the kids in the 1-mile. They seemed very excited to get their medals. I am a volunteer co-chair for the Twin Cities Marathon so I know how much work goes into a race. Nice job and I hope to be back next year!" The Commission did not object to the proposed change but did question where the additional funding would come from. The City Council recently discussed this topic and also did not have issues with the switch. The Council felt that if we axe to do the Flint Hills field that we should consider building the concessions/restroom building at the same time. The question of where the additional funding will come from for the project is still being researched.
