RECOMMENDED ACTION: Motion to Approve the Labor Agreement for the LELS Local
#223 Supervisory Collective Bargaining Unit for the Years 2018 through 2019 and to
Authorize the Necessary Signatures.
ISSUE
The City of Rosemount and Law Enforcement Labor Services, Local #223 (Police Sergeants) have
negotiated in good-faith and have come to a tentative agreement.
BACKGROUND
Negotiations with LELS Local #223 have been completed for a 2018 through 2019 contract. The
Collective Bargaining Unit and City have reached a tentative agreement on the following items:
Wages in the 2 Year Contract (2018 & 2019)
2.75% increase on January 1, 2018
2.75% increase on January 1, 2019
Court Time
Change language to be consistent with police officers (LELS): When an employee is notified of a cancellation of
court appearance on or before the calendar day prior to the scheduled appearance, no court time shall be
authorized. Same day cancellations shall entitle the employee to the minimum. When an employee is
notified of a cancellation of a court appearance more than 24 hours prior to the scheduled appearance, no
court time shall be authorized.
Clothing Allowance
Increase by $30.00 in 2018 ($850/year)
Longevity
Change language to be consistent with police officers (LELS):
Longevity will be paid according to the following schedule:
After 5 4 years 3% of current salary.
Field Training Officer Pay
Change language to be consistent with police officers (LELS):
Field Training Officer shall be paid for an additional two (2) hours hour at their current hourly rate per
shift.
SUMMARY
LELS Local #223 has voted and approved these contract changes. It is requested that Council approve
the labor agreement for the LELS Local #223 Supervisory Collective Bargaining Unit for the years 2018
through 2019 and to authorize the necessary signatures.
