ATTACHMENTS: None APPROVED BY: LJM RECOMMENDED ACTION: • Appoint Mayor Droste as Member to the Dakota Broadband Board for a one-year term beginning January 2, 2018, and ending December 31, 2018. • Appoint Council member Nelson as Alternative Member to the Dakota Broadband Board for a one-year term beginning January 2, 2018, and ending December 31, 2018. ISSUE A joint powers board, known as the Dakota Broadband Board, was established as part of the Dakota Broadband Joint Powers Agreement, which was authorized by the Rosemount City Council at its December 19 meeting. Each participating city is entitled to appoint two members of its governing body as a member and an alternate member to the Board. The actual terms of each member and alternative member shall be as established in bylaws to be adopted by the Board. Staff recommends an initial appointment of one year. Subsequent appointments will be made according to the bylaws set forth by the Board. SUMMARY Staff recommends that Mayor Droste be appointed as member and Council member Nelson as alternative member to the Dakota Broadband Board for a one-year term beginning immediately.
