1. CALL TO ORDER: Bartz called the meeting to ordex at 7:01 p.m.

3. APPROVAL OF THE NOVEMBER 27,2017 MEETING MINUTES: MOTION by Bartz to
appYove the minutes of the November 27,2017 meeting. SECOND by Farrell. Ayes: 7 Nays: 0
Motion passed.

6. OLD BUSINESS: None
a. Parks and Recreation Fees—Schultz explained that sales tax collection is being removed
from cla.ssroom,banquet hall,and auditorium rentals due to new clarifications in tax collection
rules received from the MN Sta.te Department of Revenue rela.ting to facility xentals. This will
go into effect beginning January 1,2018,and the changes have been noted in the fee schedule.
Schultz then reviewed the changes to the rental rates for the Steeple Center. A number of
Steeple Center rental rates and xental time-periods are being tweaked. 'I'hese changes axe based
on review of room usage/fees since the Steeple Center opened in 2016. The othex Parks and
Recreation fees in the schedule were discussed at previous meetings and no changes were
recommended to them. Per Schultz, the Community Center Operations Coordinatox is
conducting a survey on arena fees. Schultz will bring back results of the survey once it's
complete, and we will use the results when we review fees again next year. T'he Commission
asked if it would be possible to see xevenue and usage numbers for the Steeple Center,and for
the Community Centex before and after the Steeple Centex opened. Schultz will bring back a
comparison of revenue and non-revenue usexs. Schultz will bring back a comparison of
revenue and non-xevenue users. MOTION by Bartz to recommend that the Ciry Council
approve the 2018 Parks and Recrea,tion Fees as pYoposed in the packet. SECOND by
Feldhaus. Ayes: 7 Nays: 0 Motion passed.
7. NEW BUSINESS:
a. Director's Report—The park impxovement fund balance as of November 30,2017 was
$490,297.66. Dedication fees of$14,250 were received. No grants or donations were received.
Interest was $77.68. T'here were expenditures of$75,307 for the Greystone Park pla,yground.

Winter/Spring 2018 Parks and Recreation Brochure—'I'his season's brochure was mailed
out to Rosemount residents the end of Novembex.
Warming Houses -Warming houses opened today for the season.
Recycling of Holiday Lights—T'he Community Center is a drop-off site for unwanted
Christmas lights. ProAct, an Eagan company,collects the lights and their sta.ff takes them apart
and recycles the components.
Skate with Santa—Skate with Santa was held at the Comtnunity Center Ice Arena on Dec. 10,
in conjunction with the Rosemount Hockey Associa,tion. Revenue from this event was donated
to the Rosemount Family Resoutce Center.
The Commission asked about having a Ska.te with the Easter Bunny. Schultz will look into this.
Breakfast with Santa—This year's Breakfast with Santa was held on Saturday,December 2.
We had a gYeat turn-out,with 220 people attending.
Greystone Park—The capstone and masonry on the columns of the open shelter was
completed and 14 trees were planted around the park. The park is essentially completed.

Ayes: 7 Nays: 0 Motion passed. The meeting was adjourned at 7:29 p.m.
