Surface Water Management Plan - Wachter Pond Update.docx EXECUTIVE SUMMARY Utility Commission Meeting: March 19, 2018 AGENDA ITEM: Surface Water Management Plan – Wachter Pond Update AGENDA SECTION: Old Business PREPARED BY: Brian Erickson, P.E., Director of Public Works/City Engineer AGENDA NO. 5.b ATTACHMENTS: None APPROVED BY: BLE RECOMMENDED ACTION: None – Update ISSUE The City of Rosemount developed a Stormwater Management Plan in August 2007 to meet local watershed management planning requirements of the Metropolitan Surface Water Management Act and Board of Water and Soil Resources Rules 8410. It was also developed to be in compliance with the requirements of the local Watershed District and Watershed Management Organizations, Metropolitan Council requirements and applicable State and Federal Laws. Wachter is a stormwater collection pond for the drainage area west of Robert Trail, roughly south of 140th St W and north of Chippendale Ave W. June 19, 2017, Interim Public Works Director John Morast held a discussion with the Utility Commission regarding Wachter Pond. Since that time, the new Public Works Director has met with Mr. Tom Tubbs, a resident along the pond to discuss some concerns that were outlined in a letter that he previously sent to the City of Rosemount. BACKGROUND In the coming weeks, staff will be responding to the questions raised and review options that may be pursued in order to address some of the resident’s concerns. Additional updates will be provided to the Utility Commission as this process moves forward.
