ISSUE
Staff is providing an update on current city projects that affect or involve the various utilities.
DISCUSSION
The following projects are currently in the planning or bidding process:
1. 2018-01 – 2018 Street Improvement Project – This project is part of the city’s pavement
management program and will rehabilitate a number of streets in the neighborhood bounded
by Shannon Parkway, Diamond Path Road, CSAH 42 and CSAH 46. Additionally, there will
be improvements to some of the existing catch basins, replace two old fire hydrants and
repair and replace existing manhole castings. Bid opening is scheduled for April 19 and this
project will be completed in 2018.
2. 2018-03 – Bonaire Path – This project will reconstruct the existing gravel road east of Akron
Avenue and extend water main to Anderson Drive thus looping the system in that area. An
extension of the sanitary system may also be involved; however, that determination has not
been made at this point. Anticipated construction is 2019.
3. 2018-04 – Well 1 & Well 2 Sealing – This project will two abandoned wells in the downtown
area of Rosemount. Currently, the staff is working with the Minnesota Department of
Health to locate the well as they are buried under an existing parking west of T.H. 3.
4. 2018-06 – Addison Avenue – This project will extend Addison Avenue street and utilities

south of 141 St. It is being performed in cooperation with the Dakota County CDA. Bid
opening is scheduled for April 20 and construction will be completed in 2018.
5. 2018-08 – Meadow Ridge – This is a new residential development approximately ½ mile
north of Bonaire Path on the west side of Akron Avenue which is planned for 154 single
family homes. Work will include site grading, street and utility installation and the
installation of a temporary sanitary sewer lift station.
6. 2018-09 – Connemara Trail Extension – This project will provide the design for extending
Connemara Trail street and utilities east of Akron Avenue. Design will be completed in
2018 and construction will begin in 2019 at the earliest.

7. 2018-10 – Greystone 7 – This is next phase of the Greystone development east of Akron
Avenue and south of Bonaire Path and will include 46 single family homes. Construction is
anticipated to begin mid-summer 2018.
8. 2018-11 – Harmony Parkview – This private residential development north of Connemara

Trail and east of T.H. 3 that will provide 22 townhomes. The utilities will be public while
the streets are private. The developer will perform construction and City of Rosemount will
inspect the utility installation.
The following projects are a currently under construction:
1. 416 – Well #16 – This project is constructing a new municipal well on Bacardi Avenue.
Currently the well has be drilled and the contractor is building the wellhouse and will be
installing pumps. This well is planned to come online summer 2018.

2. 465 – 132 Street West Improvements – This project reconstructs the existing gravel road
and extends the utilities to the intersection with Dodd Boulevard. Construction will be
completed in 2018.

3. 467 – Dunmore 1 – This private residential development west of T. H. 3 and south of 132
Street provides 30 single family homes. The streets and utilities are public, but are being
constructed privately. Construction will be completed in 2018.

4. 474 – Greystone 5 – This private residential development east of Akron Avenue and south
of Bonaire Path provides 23 single family homes. The streets and utilities are public, but are
being constructed privately. Construction will be completed in 2018.

5. 475 – Bella Vista 5 – This private residential development north of Bonaire Path and east
of Bacardi Avenue provides 41 single family homes. The streets and utilities are public, but
are being constructed privately. Construction will be completed in 2018.

6. 2017-01 – Greystone 6 – This private residential development east of Akron Avenue and
south of Bonaire Path provides 27 single family homes. The streets and utilities are being
constructed as a public project. Construction will be completed in 2018.
7. 2017-02 – Harmony Villas – This private residential development north of Connemara Trail
and east of T.H. 3 provides 42 townhomes. The utilities will be public while the streets are
private. Construction will be completed in 2018.
8. 2017-06 – Prestwick Townhomes – This private residential development east of Akron
Avenue and south of Bonaire Path provides 40 townhomes and is being constructed by the
Dakota County CDA. Construction will begin in 2018.

9. 2017-07 – Prestwick Place 14 – This private residential development north of Connemara
Trail and west of Akron Avenue provides 38 single family homes. The streets and utilities
are public, but are being constructed privately. Construction will be completed in 2018.
