SUMMARY
National Volunteer Week is April 15 – 21 and the City of Rosemount has benefited from a large number
of citizens who are willing to give their time and expertise. Their efforts fulfill many needs that would
otherwise go unmet. Nationwide, it’s estimated that twenty million people are engaged in volunteer efforts.
For the last few years, the City of Rosemount has had an organized effort to coordinate volunteers who
work on the City’s behalf. Tonight the Council recognizes our wonderful volunteers! They have been
invited to attend this Council meeting and a reception afterwards in honor of their contributions and to
celebrate their service.
The City Council and staff would like to thank all our hardworking and dedicated volunteers for serving
our community and helping to shape a better future for Rosemount. They donate their time and talents,
and we couldn’t do it without them!
Our volunteers do all sorts of things within the community. Some of these areas include:
Police Reserves and Chaplains
Rosemount Fire Explorers
Rosemount Area Seniors Board
Leprechaun Days and the Haunted Woods Trail
Rosemount Area Arts Council
Wetlands and Bluebird Box Monitoring and Maintenance
Adopt-a-Park and Adopt-a-Street
Office Support and Document Scanning
Gardening and Landscape Maintenance
Downtown Task Force
Facilities Task Force
Environment and Sustainability Task Force
