ISSUE
Staff was recently contacted by Veda Kanitz, a teacher at Rosemount High School, asking if a group of
students could present information to the Parks and Recreation Commission regarding climate change.
The students hope to have the City of Rosemount write a resolution in support of federal action on
climate change. The students feel that urgent action is needed on a personal, local, state, and federal level
if we are to avoid catastrophic climate change. They will have sample resolutions put forth by other cities
that we can review and consider recommending to the City Council.
