The City Council supports educational institutions in Rosemount and the administrators, faculty, and staff
who serve their students. The Council tonight is commending John Wollersheim, who is retiring as the
principal of Rosemount High School.
John began his teaching career at the school in the social studies department in 1984. He also served as a
coach in football and girls’ basketball. After positions of increasing responsibility at other schools, he
returned to Rosemount as assistant principal and became the top administrator at RHS ten years ago.
During his time as principal, Rosemount High School grew to the point that last weekend its graduating
class was the largest in the district. The school’s academic performance has shown steady growth as well,
measured by standardized tests and the success of its graduates. Its teams in athletics and the arts have also
outperformed and brought positive attention to the community. John recently presided over the high
school’s centennial year. And through his work with civic groups including OneRosemount, he leaves the
school and its community well-positioned for the future.
In the words of the plaque we are about to present,
The Rosemount City Council
commends
JOHN WOLLERSHEIM
Principal, Rosemount High School, 2008-2018
