Our community benefits from a large number of young people who reach the Eagle Scout designation. As
the highest advancement rank for Boy Scouts of America, only about seven percent of Scouts complete
the work to achieve the ranking, including completion of at least 21 merit badges. Eagle Scouts also must
plan, develop, and give leadership to a service project for any religious organization, school, or community.
The City Council tonight continues its tradition of honoring these accomplishments by commending two
Rosemount students who achieved the Eagle rank.
Alex Henry added birdhouses to the grounds around Rosemount Elementary School. He built
and installed the houses with the help of friends and family. Alex will begin 10th grade this fall at
Rosemount High School.
Anthony Owens created a butterfly pollinator garden beside the church The Well. With fellow
Scouts, family, and friends, he cleared space, drew up plans, and selected plants. Anthony will also
start 10th grade this fall at Rosemount High School.
