RECOMMENDED ACTION: Motion to approve the Barman’s Hospitality Group, Inc. d/b/a
Celt’s Irish Pub & Grill On-Sale License on Public Premise Liquor License to serve
intoxicating beverages valid July 17 through December 31, 2018.
BACKGROUND
Barman’s Hospitality Group d/b/a Celt’s Irish Pub & Grill (“Celt’s”) has submitted an application
for an On-Sale Liquor License on Public Premises.
City Code 3-1-13 On-Sale License on Public Premise states the City Council may issue to the holder
of an on-sale intoxicating liquor license issued by the city or a municipality adjacent to the city, a
license to allow the dispensing of intoxicating liquor at any convention, banquet, conference,
meeting or social affair conducted on the premises of a sports, convention or cultural facility owned
by the City.
The fee for obtaining such license is $350.00. The City also requires a copy of the applicant’s
current Certificate of Liability Insurance. The duration of the granted license shall remain in effect
from its issuance until December 31 of the year it is issued. No public hearing is required for the
granting of an On-Sale License on Public Premises.
RECOMMENDATION
The required $350.00 fee and insurance documents have been submitted. The license term will run
from date of approval to December 31, 2018. Celt’s failed the last compliance check conducted on
June 20, 2018 and it is the City’s understanding that they have agreed to admit the violation and pay
a fine. Barman’s Hospitality Group has previously held public premise liquor licenses without any
issues and therefore staff recommends approval of the above-referenced motion.
