ISSUE Staff recently created the attached Request for Proposal (RFP) for the playground equipment to be installed at Horseshoe Lake Park. The RFP asked playground equipment vendors to submit two proposals detailed in the RFP. To try and expedite the process of getting the playground equipment ordered an installed, the City sent the RFP to only two playground vendors that we have done most of our recent business with. The vendors are both part of national purchasing co-ops which allows the City to purchase equipment directly from the vendors without using a bidding process because they pre-bid their equipment to get into the co-op. A copy of each of the proposal will be emailed to the Commissioners before July 27 for you to review prior to the Commission meeting due to our packet being created prior to the RFP deadline. Staff from the City will review the proposals on July 19 or 20 and will provide an overview of the proposals at the Commission meeting on Monday, July 23. Staff is also coordinating efforts to set a side time for the residents in the neighborhood to review the proposals and provide feedback.
