RECOMMENDED ACTION: Motion to approve the receipt of $2000.00 from the
CenterPoint Energy grant and approve expenditure of $2000.00 to assist with the purchase
of new mobile radios.
BACKGROUND
In 2018, CenterPoint Energy contacted communities regarding a public safety grant. CenterPoint Energy advised
the equipment or project funded by the grant must be used for safety initiatives in the community. These grants
help local communities in their service area by providing them with funds to purchase critical safety
equipment to support fire departments, police departments and municipal services.
Staff completed the grant application and we are pleased to report that the City of Rosemount received $2,000.00
from their 2018 grant program.
The Rosemount Police Department will utilize these funds to help offset the cost of the newly purchased
police mobile radios.
RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that Council approve the receipt of $2000.00 and the expenditure of those funds to
offset the cost of the recently purchase police mobile radios.
