RECOMMENDED ACTION: Motion that the City Council approves purchasing an ICON 20
x 30 foot shelter for Horseshoe Lake Park from Webber Recreation Design through the
National Purchasing Cooperative – Good Buy for the amount of $78,264.00.
ISSUE
Staff is requesting the City Council approve the purchase of a sun shelter for Horseshoe Lake Park. The
sun shelter will be 20 ft by 30 ft and sit next to the playground overlooking Horseshoe Lake. The shelter
will have steel columns and a metal room with decorative cupula. The photo included in the packet is a
shelter that will be similar to the one that is being recommended for purchase except our shelter would
have a metal roof.
The Parks and Recreation reviewed several shelter option and felt this model would be fit the site and
provide plenty of room for those visiting the park.
The purchase of a new sun shelter was included as part of the Horseshoe Lake Park project identified he
2018 Capital Improvement Plan.
RECOMMENDATION
Staff is recommending that the City Council approves purchasing an ICON 20 x 30 foot shelter for
Horseshoe Lake Park from Webber Recreation Design through the National Purchasing Cooperative –
Good Buy for the amount of $78,264.00.
