AGENDA ITEM: Municipal Facilities Space Needs
Assessment

Discussion
PREPARED BY: Logan Martin, City Administrator AGENDA NO. 2.a.
ATTACHMENTS: None. APPROVED BY: LJM
RECOMMENDED ACTION: None, discussion only.
BACKGROUND
Based on direction received at the May work session along with the recent results of the Facilities Task
Force, the City engaged Wold Architects to perform a space needs analysis of municipal buildings.
Specifically, the focus of the work has surrounded the current space challenges in the Police and Public
Works departments. The overall usage of City Hall has also been considered as a part of this process,
especially in light of the opportunity to reconfigure space allocation in City Hall should a PD / PW facility
be constructed.
Wold Architects has met a number of times with an internal staff team, and they will be present at the
work session to share a mid-point check in the process. A presentation will be shared to discuss the
results of the investigation, and Wold will return to a work session in the coming months to discuss what
they would recommend is needed for facilities going forward.
RECOMMENDATION
Discussion and information only. Direction on next steps will be requested of the Council after the final
presentation of Wold’s recommendations, which is anticipated in the coming months.
