The event, which was planned and organized by the Rosemount Parks & Recreation Department, featured 11 food trucks, a beer tent, live music, and was a huge success. Food choices included Mexican, Thai, and Caribbean, Asian, Greek, Italian, and American foods. Critical Mass and Brat Pack Radio provided the music and Celt's supplied the beer. Since this was our first event of this type, no one was sure how many people to expect. The evening was cool but dry, a pleasant change from the rainy weather earlier in the week. Whether it was the nice weather, the free entertainment, or the wide variety of food choices, the crowd was 3- 4 times bigger than expected/hoped for. Lines for all of the trucks were long and many trucks ran out of food before the scheduled 10:00 pm ending time. But since this was our first time putting on an event like this, no one minded the wait for their food. All in all, the vast majority of the comments about the event were very positive. Food Truck Vendor Comments: It was my pleasure to come to the festival! Keep us in mind if you have more upcoming festivals next year. I would love to come back again! Pharaoh's Gyros Hope you had a blast tonight at the festival. I saw a couple pictures from it this year. We cannot wait to join you next year! Hockey Mom Brownies (Had prior commitment/not at our festival) It was our pleasure! We had a great time and hope to be invited back next year. We had 179 transactions and many of those had more than one person on it so probably around 200 people. El Burrito on Wheels We served about 200 people, I think you had a good number of trucks for the number of people; it was just like the Eagan Fest. Any fewer trucks and the lines would have been harder to manage, and too many would hurt sales per truck. You had a good variety of food choices and the music was great too! You guys nailed it! Buon Cibo Thank you so much for having us. We had a great time. We sold upwards of 400 tickets and from talking with the other trucks, they too were very happy. We look forward to next year! Heavy Metal Grill Thank you so much for having us be a part of your first annual Food Truck Fest! It was wonderful! The weather cooperated and the people came! I heard so many wonderful comments from people we served. I heard several say they think your postcard mailing was what made most people aware of the fest. I'm not sure. Whatever you did, it worked! You did a great job! Obviously next year plan for more people! I heard the beer ran out! Not sure if that's why people started leaving about 9. We served about 600 people. Home Town Creamery We had a very long line; we probably served about 200 customers. We loved the event. Please allow us to come back next year. Thai Thai Street Food Thank you very much for having us, we were very pleased with the outcome. Xstream Cuisine PLAYGROUND REMOVALS - The playground at Winds Park was removed this week. For the first time ever, Rosemount worked with Bauer Brothers Salvage to do this removal. A new playground will be ordered this winter and installed at Winds Park in the spring. The playground at Schwarz Pond Park was also recently removed. That playground will be removed by Kids Around the World and will be reconditioned and shipped to a yet -to -be -determined Third World County. That playground too will be replaced in the spring.
