RECOMMENDED ACTION: Motion to approve the Police Liaison Services
Agreement between the City of Rosemount and School District No. 196 for the 2018 –
2019 school year.
BACKGROUND
The Police Department provides liaison services at District No. 196 schools within the City. An
Officer is assigned full-time (40 hours per week) at Rosemount High School and one-quarter time at
Rosemount Middle School.
ISD 196 will pay $69,043.67 to the City for providing of liaison services at the two public schools.
This funding is used to help offset a portion of the cost for the liaison officers. The liaison officer
position allows the Rosemount Police Department a link to connect with the youth of Rosemount;
to assist with educational programming and develop positive relationships with students.
RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that Council approve the agreement for police liaison services for the 2018 —
2019 school year.
