CALL TO ORDER: Schuster started the tour at 6:00 p.m. ADDITIONS TO THE AGENDA: None 3. TOUR AGENDA Skate Park – Schuster pointed out the new equipment at the skate park. The door into the skate park needed to be fixed and there were issues with the fence ties. The Commission questioned the maintenance of the wood fence along the road to Schwarz Pond Park as several boards were missing. One of the kids using the skate park requested a drinking fountain and lights. Schuster explained the cost for these amenities would be substantial and that the Community Center is open until 10:00 p.m. and water and a telephone are available there. Innisfree Park – Schuster explained that this is a City Park and that we’ll be taking its maintenance in 2006. He also pointed out trees that had been planted by a member of the community and gave the Commission some background on the park. The Commission asked if a bike rack could be installed here, and noted a lot of weeds growing in the landscaped areas. Dallara Park – This park is an example of a restored park. It needs a park sign, and some additional mulch/seeding. Camfield Park – A new shelter will be installed at Camfield Park this year. Schuster pointed out that the trees are being damaged by weed trimmers and this should be addressed as it can kill the trees. The Commission questioned whether access at this park was up to ADA code and whether an ADA swing was required at every park. Bloomfield Park – Schuster explained some of the issues they had with the hockey rink and drainage. These issues have been addressed. A warming house/shelter will be added to Bloomfield Park in 2006. It was noted that additional mulch was needed under the play equipment. Birch Park – A climbing wall is in this year’s budget for Birch Park. A resident who lives near Birch Park requested the port-a-potty be moved, that the picnic table near the basketball hoop be cemented down so it couldn’t be moved, that a drinking fountain be installed, that horseshoe pits be installed and that more garbage cans be installed. He also questioned the placement of some trees at the edge of the park and the way that area was mowed. Meadows Park – This park is currently under construction. Schuster pointed out the locations where the play equipment and the two shelters would be installed. Schuster answered questions about maintenance of equipment and grounds at each park (schedule for repairs and painting of equipment, shelters/pavilions, and grounds maintenance such as adding mulch, seeding, weeding, etc.). 4. ADJOURNMENT The tour was completed at 7:45 p.m. Respectfully submitted by Sonja Honl, Recording Secretary
