RECOMMENDED ACTION: Discuss the opportunity to provide financial support to the
Hope Fieldhouse project and provide staff direction on next steps.
BACKGROUND
The development team at Hope Fieldhouse previously submitted a formal request asking the City to
partner financially toward the completion of this recreation project. The City Council has met a number
of times over the last few months (and previously under different iterations of the project) to discuss this
project.
Representatives from the Hope Fieldhouse team will be present at the meeting to provide on update on
the current status of the project. It is staff’s understanding that the financial request has been modified
based on previous Council direction, and a waiver of City-controlled permit fees is now being requested.
That would amount to approximately $35,000 in fees, as a number of other fees are required to be
collected via the building permit process and submitted to the State. Staff will provide a breakdown of
these options at the meeting for further discussion.
RECOMMENDATION
Staff requests the City Council discuss the opportunity to financially support Hope Fieldhouse and provide
direction on next steps.
