PREPARED BY: Logan Martin, City Administrator AGENDA NO. 2.c.
ATTACHMENTS: None. APPROVED BY: LJM
RECOMMENDED ACTION: Receive presentation regarding Municipal Facility Needs
Assessment and consider next steps in addressing the recommendations.
BACKGROUND
The City engaged Wold Architects in mid-2018 to complete a Municipal Facility Space Needs Assessment.
A team of City staff from Administration, Police, and Public Works was formed and has been meeting
with Wold on a regular basis ever since. At its October 2nd work session the Council received the results
of Wold’s preliminary analysis of the City’s current municipal spaces, which cited current space deficiencies
and an increasing need to acquire extra space to consider projected growth in City staff / services. Since
that time, the work has progressed into an analysis of what amounts and types of spaces will be needed to
effectively provide public service both now and into the future.
Wold will be present at the work session to provide recommendations generated from their analysis. Staff
would request that the Council discuss the analysis presented by the architect and engage in a conversation
about plans moving forward.
RECOMMENDATION
Staff requests the City Council discuss future municipal facility needs in light of the presentation received
and provide staff direction on potential next steps.
