SUMMARY
Minnesota Valley Transit Authority provides essential transportation services to residents and employees
in Rosemount and six neighboring communities. Next week, MVTA will participate in a challenge to
commuters in its service area. During the “Get on Board Commuter Challenge,” participants who alter
their commutes will be eligible for prizes provided by local business partners. Participants can qualify by
using public transit, bicycles, carpools, walking, or telecommuting.
The goal is to draw more people to sample these alternative forms of commuting at least once during the
week. By doing so, they may be more inclined to use these alternatives in the future. The full details of the
Challenge are available on the agency’s website, www.mvta.com.
The challenge will run from Monday, April 22, to Sunday, April 28. That will include the day of April 25,
which has been declared “National Get on Board Day.”
RECOMMENDATION
