ATTACHMENTS: None APPROVED BY: BLE RECOMMENDED ACTION: None, Informational Report BACKGROUND Staff is providing an update on current city projects that affect or involve the various utilities. DISCUSSION The following list of projects provides detailed information for the Utility Commission. 1. 465 – 132nd Street West Improvements – This project reconstructs the existing gravel road and extends the utilities to the intersection with Dodd Boulevard. Construction will be completed in 2019. 2. 467 – Dunmore 1 – This private residential development west of MN TH 3 and south of 132nd Street will construct 30 of the planned total of 87 single family homes. Work includes street and utility installation. This project is nearly completed. 3. 475 – Bella Vista 5 – This private residential development north of Bonaire Path and east of Bacardi Avenue will construct 41 of the planned total of 158 single family homes. Work includes street and utility installation as well as the construction of a regional stormwater pond. This project is nearly completed. 4. 2017-01 – Greystone 6 – This private residential development east of Akron Avenue and south of Bonaire Path will construct 27 of the planned total of 287 single family homes. Work includes street and utility installation. This project is nearly completed. 5. 2017-02 – Harmony Villas – This private residential development north of Connemara Trail and east of MN TH 3 will construct 42 townhomes. The public utility construction is completed. 6. 2017-06 – Prestwick Townhomes – This private residential development east of Akron Avenue and south of Bonaire Path will construct 40 townhomes and is being constructed by the Dakota County CDA. Construction began in 2018. 7. 2018-03 – Bonaire Path – This project will reconstruct the existing gravel road east of Akron Avenue and extend water main to Anderson Drive thus looping the system in that area. In addition, the raw water main will be extended to the east of Akron Ave. No extension of the sanitary system is involved; however, a casing will be installed that could allow property north of Bonaire to be connected to future sanitary sewer extensions. Construction will begin in June 2019. Final construction of the railroad crossing will occur in 2020 and provide the necessary infrastructure to create a quiet zone at this crossing. 8. 2018-05 – Akron Surface Improvements – This project will reconstruct the existing gravel \\rosemount9\Data\PWorks\MEETINGS\UTILITY COMMISSION\UC Items and Packets\2019\20190520\8.a. City Projects Update.docx road north of Bonaire Path to the northern city limits. This is a joint Dakota County/City of Rosemount project. As part of this project the city will have utilities extended to the future right of way in order to avoid the potential for impacting the county road. Rosemount will also perform pavement maintenance on 121st Street and 124th Court. Construction is planned for 2020. 9. 2018-06 – Addison Avenue – This project extends Addison Avenue street and utilities south of 141st St. It is being performed in cooperation with the Dakota County CDA. This project is nearly completed. 10. 2018-08 – Meadow Ridge 1– This is a new residential development approximately ½ mile north of Bonaire Path on the west side of Akron Avenue and will construct 34 of the planned total of 154 single family homes. Work includes street and utility installation and the installation of a temporary sanitary sewer lift station in a future phase. This project is nearly completed. 11. 2018-09 – Connemara Trail Extension – This project will extend Connemara Trail street and utilities east of Akron Avenue. Design is completed and construction is planned to begin in 2019. 12. 2018-10 – Greystone 7 – This is next phase of the Greystone development east of Akron Avenue and south of Bonaire Path and will construct 46 of the planned total of 287 single family homes. Work includes street and utility installation. This project is nearly completed. 13. 2018-11 – Harmony Parkview – This private residential development north of Connemara Trail and east of MN TH 3 will construct 22 townhomes. The utilities will be public while the streets are private. Construction of the public utilities is completed. 14. 2018-12 – Harmony Villas 2 – This private residential development north of Connemara Trail and east of MN TH 3 will construct 26 townhomes. The utilities will be public while the streets are private. Construction of the public utilities is completed. 15. 2018-13 – Dunmore 2 – This private residential development west of MN TH 3 and south of 132nd Street will construct 25 of the planned total of 87 single family homes. Work includes street and utility installation. Work has not started. 16. 2018-14 – Prestwick Place 15 – This private residential development west of Akron Avenue and north of Connemara Trail will construct 39 single family homes. Work includes street and utility installation. This project is nearly completed. 17. 2018-16 – Prestwick Place 16 – This private residential development west of Akron Avenue and north of Connemara Trail will construct 19 single family homes. Work includes street and utility installation. This project is nearly completed. 18. 2018-18 – Minea Sewer Extension – This development extends sanitary sewer service across Independent School District 196’s recently acquired parcel in order to provide service for future development. This project will begin in 2019. 19. 2018-19 – Greystone 8 – This is the final phase of the Greystone development east of Akron Avenue and south of Bonaire Path and will construct 56 of the planned total of 287 single family homes. Work includes street and utility installation. This project began in 2019. 20. 2018-20 Meadow Ridge 2– This private residential development approximately ½ mile north of Bonaire Path on the west side of Akron Avenue and will construct 29 of the planned total of 154 single family homes. Work includes street and utility installation. This project began in 2019. 21. 2019-01 – 2019 Street Improvement Project – This project will rehabilitate several collector streets within the city. Repairs to utility infrastructure will be accomplished as well. Construction is planned to begin summer of 2019. 22. 2019-02 – Chippendale Tower Reconditioning – This project will rehabilitate the existing interior and exterior coating on the Chippendale Water Tower. City Projects Update.docx being late summer 2019. 23. 2019-03 – Bella Vista 6 – This private residential development north of Bonaire Path and east of Bacardi Avenue will construct 19 of the planned total of 158 single family homes. Work includes street and utility installation. This project is planned to begin in 2019. 24. 2019-04 – Caramore Crossing - This private residential development north of Bonaire Path and east of Bacardi Avenue will construct a total of 177 single family homes. Work includes street and utility installation. Planning for this project is ongoing. 25. 2019-06 – Prestwick Place 17 – This private residential development east of Akron Avenue and south of Bonaire Path will construct 26 townhomes in addition to extending Addison Avenue east to the property boundary. This project is planned to begin in 2019. 26. 2019-08 – Prestwick Place 18 - This private residential development east of Akron Avenue and south of Bonaire Path will construct 40 townhomes. This project is planned to begin in 2019. 27. 2019-09 – Prestwick Place 19 – This private residential development west of Akron Avenue and north of Connemara Trail will construct 35 single family homes. Work includes street and utility installation. This project is planned to begin in 2019. 28. 2019-10 – Adalyn Avenue – This project will connect Addison Avenue and Connemara Trail and extend utilities between these two streets. Design is underway and construction is planned to begin in 2019. 29. 2019-12 – Dunmore Lift Station – This project will construct a planned stormwater lift station that connects to previously constructed force main. It provides a connection between the Dunmore pond and Schwarz Pond. Design is underway and construction is planned to begin in 2019.
