RECOMMENDED ACTION: Motion to Approve First Amendment to Tower Lease
Agreement with Sprint Property Services for Cellular Equipment at the Connemara Water
Tower.
BACKGROUND
The City of Rosemount and Sprint have a lease agreement in place for Sprint’s cellular equipment at the
Connemara Water Tower. Representatives from Sprint have asked for an amendment to the current
agreement to install additional equipment within the Connemara Water Tower.
Attached is the First Amendment to Tower Lease Agreement that Sprint has requested. The Amendment
was reviewed by City staff and the City Attorney, as well as the Utility Commission members at the
September 17, 2018 Utility Commission meeting. The Utility Commission has made a recommendation
for City Council approval of the Tower Lease Agreement.
This Amendment includes the following notable changes to the original lease agreement with Sprint:
• The premises exhibit will be modified to include Sprint’s new equipment.
• Annual rent will be increased to $24,000/year to be consistent with Rosemount’s current fee
schedule.
• The contact information for Sprint will be updated.
RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends Council approval and execution of the First Amendment to Tower Lease Agreement
with Sprint on Connemara Tower.
