BACKGROUND
The City was accepted into Xcel Energy’s Partners in Energy (PIE) program in 2017. At that time, a team
was formed comprised of City staff, members of our REST task force, utility partners, business leaders,
and community stakeholders with the purpose of developing an Energy Action Plan. The Plan was
adopted in July 2018 and it lays out two major goals: community-wide energy reduction of 5% by 2020
and 15% by 2030. Goals and objectives are laid out in four categories of users (residential, municipal, large
users, and small/medium-size businesses.
Since 2018, City staff and REST members have been working diligently to implement numerous action
items laid out in the Energy Action Plan. Our partners at Xcel have been compiling data from all utility
providers, and they are prepared to report some mid-year results to the City Council.
Representatives from Xcel will be on hand to present the findings, and members of REST will also be in
attendance at the meeting to show support and answer questions.

Receive presentation and discuss data presented.
