Motion to approve Resolution Authorizing American Legion Post 65 to Host Outdoor Music
& Approving Temporary Liquor License on September 14, 2019 at 14590 Burma Ave West
subject to conditions within the staff report.
SUMMARY
The Rosemount American Legion has submitted a request for Temporary On-Sale Liquor License at
14590 Burma Ave West. The purpose of the request is to hold outdoor events in their parking lot as part
of “I Fed A Military Family Veteran’s Run” which is a fundraiser that makes donations to veterans’
organizations.
Staff recommends approval of the temporary license as requested by the American Legion to hold an
event on September 14, 2019. The approvals are subject to the following conditions:
1. Permit is valid only for the date of Saturday, September 14, 2019; and
2. Music (DJ) shall stop at 9:00 p.m.; and
3. Event and associated liquor consumption shall remain within the fenced areas; and
4. The parking lot area be fenced in a manner consistent with prior years and approved by the
Rosemount Chief of Police.
5. Access points to the fenced area are staffed by the American Legion to control entry/exit.
RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends approval of the above-stated motion.

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AMERICAN LEGION
TO HOST OUTDOOR MUSIC EVENT & APPROVING
TEMPORARY LIQUOR LICENSE
WHEREAS, Rosemount American Legion Post 65 submitted a request to host music outside on
September 14; and
WHEREAS, Rosemount American Legion has submitted an application for a Temporary On-Sale
Liquor License that will expand their licensed premises to their parking lot; and
WHEREAS, City Code 7-1-6 forbids the use of electronic sound systems / audio equipment in a
manner in which it is plainly audible at a distance of fifty feet or more from the property line; and
WHEREAS, City Code 7-1-6-D-1-a allows an exception when the sound is in connection with
activities for which a permit has been granted by the city, subject to the terms of the permit.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Rosemount does
hereby approve a 1 Day Temporary On-Sale Liquor License and authorize and permit Rosemount
American Legion Post 65 to host outdoor music at their location at 14590 Burma Avenue,
Rosemount, subject to the following conditions;
1. Permit is valid only for the date of Saturday, September 14, 2019; and
2. Music shall stop at 9:00 p.m.; and
3. Event and associated liquor consumption shall remain within the fenced areas; and
4. The parking lot area be fenced in a manner consistent with prior years and approved by
the Rosemount Chief of Police.
