ATTACHMENTS: None APPROVED BY: LJM RECOMMENDED ACTION: Motion to Approve Plans and Specifications and Authorize Advertisement for Bids for 145th Street Pedestrian Improvements. BACKGROUND Since the Council approval for installing additional crossing material at the August 20, 2019 meeting, staff and the consultant have completed the design for constructing a sidewalk on the north side of 145th Street W. The southern connection is proposed to be installed with the 145th Street rehabilitation project, scheduled for 2023. At that time, additional agreements with Progressive Rail and Union Pacific will be required for southern track surface panel extension and relocation of the railroad’s signal connections. In an effort to have this work completed in 2019, staff is requesting authorization to advertise for bids. The table below shows the estimated total project cost and funding. RECOMMENDATION City staff recommends Council approval of the plans and specifications and authorizing the advertisement for bids for the 145th Street Pedestrian Improvements Project, City Project 447.
