Family Resource Center Project - Change Order #1 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY City Council Regular Meeting: September 17, 2019 AGENDA ITEM: Family Resource Center Project - Change Order #1 AGENDA SECTION: Consent PREPARED BY: Dan Schultz, Parks and Recreation Director AGENDA NO. 6.h. ATTACHMENTS: Change Order #1 APPROVED BY: LJM RECOMMENDED ACTION: Motion to approve Change Order #1 for the Family resource Center Project. BACKGROUND In the summer of 2019, the City Council awarded a bid for the expansion of the Family Resource Center. The expansion plans will add 3,320 square feet to the facility. During the construction of the project a few changes have been requested that have resulted in staff requesting the City Council to consider approving change order #1. The first alteration to the project is a request by the City’s Planning Department for the addition of shrubs along the new trash enclosure to better screen it from the street. The second alteration is rerouting of the exterior lighting circuit. It was discovered during construction that the existing parking lot lighting circuit was routed underground through the area being excavated for the building addition. The third part of change order #1 is the addition of electrical floor boxes. This item adds in-floor electrical boxes in the multi-purpose room as required by the interpretation of the electrical inspector. The total of the three requests is $10,152.57. RECOMMENDATION Staff is recommending the City Council approve Change Order #1 for the Family Resource Center expansion project.
