ATTACHMENTS: Draft Resolution APPROVED BY: LJM RECOMMENDED ACTION: Motion to approve the attached resolution designating the seven polling places for the 2020 elections. SUMMARY State law requires municipalities and school districts to designate, by resolution, their polling places for the following year. The designation must be made by December 31 for the following year and no designation of a new or different polling place shall become effective less than 90 days prior to an election. Upcoming 2020 elections include; Presidential Nomination Primary: March 3rd, Minnesota State Primary: August 11th and State General/City Election: November 3rd. The polling places for 2020 are the same as they were in 2018; Precinct 1: Rosemount Community Center, 13885 South Robert Trail Precinct 2: St. John’s Lutheran Church, 14385 Blaine Avenue East Precinct 3: First Baptist Church, 14400 Diamond Path West Precinct 4: Rosemount Steeple Center, 14375 South Robert Trail Precinct 5: Our Saviors Church, 14980 Diamond Path Precinct 6: The Well a United Methodist Church, 14770 Canada Avenue Precinct 7: Hosanna Church, 14401 Biscayne Avenue West RECOMMENDATION Approve the attached Resolution designating the seven polling locations for all 2020 elections. CITY OF ROSEMOUNT DAKOTA COUNTY, MINNESOTA RESOLUTION 2019 - ___ A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE DESIGNATION OF POLLING PLACES FOR 2020 ELECTIONS WHEREAS, the City of Rosemount is divided into seven precincts for the election of four Council Members and one Mayor; and WHEREAS, Minnesota Statute requires municipalities to designate, by resolution, their polling places for the following year, before December 31 WHEREAS, no designation of a new or different polling place shall become effective less than 90 days prior to an election, including school district elections or referenda, and no polling place changes may occur during the period between the state primary and the state general election, except that a new polling place may be designated to replace a polling place that has become unavailable for use. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of Rosemount hereby designates the following precinct locations for all 2020 elections; Precinct 1: Precinct 2: Precinct 3: Precinct 4: Precinct 5: Precinct 6: Precinct 7: Rosemount Community Center, 13885 South Robert Trail St. John’s Lutheran Church, 14385 Blaine Avenue East First Baptist Church, 14400 Diamond Path West Rosemount Steeple Center, 14375 South Robert Trail Our Saviors Church, 14980 Diamond Path The Well, a United Methodist Church, 14770 Canada Avenue Hosanna Church, 14401 Biscayne Avenue West ADOPTED this 19th day of November, 2019, by the City Council of the City of Rosemount. __________________________________________ William H.
