RECOMMENDED ACTION: Motion to approve Change Order #3 for the Family Resource
Center Project.
BACKGROUND
In the summer of 2019, the City Council awarded a bid for the expansion of the Family Resource Center.
The expansion plans will add 3,320 square feet to the facility. During the construction of the project a few
changes have been needed that have resulted in staff requesting the City Council to consider approving
change order #3.
The changes that are incorporated in the attached Change Order #03 are the following:
A. Change of out of floor boxes, deduct of $794.00
B. Signage scope change, deduct of $413.00
C. Addition of irrigation water supply and electrical outlet, addition of $6,810.00
D. Changes to irrigation components requested by City, addition of $4,018.06
E. Addition of Exterior light for outdoor signage, addition of $6,431.70
The total of the five requests is $16,052.76. Funding is available for this change order within the project
budget and contingency amounts.
RECOMMENDATION
Staff is recommending the City Council approve Change Order #3 for the Family Resource Center
expansion project.

SUBJECT: Change Order #03 Review
The following is a summary of the items being submitted as Change Order #03 for the Rosemount
Family Resource Center project.
Background:
The construction on the Rosemount Family Resource Center project is progressing well and is
currently a little ahead of schedule. The addition is enclosed with interior walls mostly painted,
ceilings installed, millwork started. The exterior is also moving along with siding about 75%
installed. Site work has progressed with the parking lots done to base course with the final course to
be done in spring.
During the past month several items have come up to improve the facility or address items requested
by city irrigation vendor. These items are summarized below.
Description of Changes:
The changes that are incorporated in the attached Change Order #02 are the following:
A. Revise irrigation sprinkler brand: This item included adding the irrigation PRV connection
and changing to the preferred irrigation head model.
B. Electrical changes: This change addressed adjustments in electrical requirements including
replacing existing exterior sign light to best meet the current needs of 360 Communities.
C. Miscellaneous interior deducts: This change involved deducting an electrical floor box and
reducing the number of room signs.

Pricing:
The following are the pricing for each group of Proposal Request items listed above and included in
this Change Order. All prices have been reviewed by CNH Architects and our consultant team and
have been determined to be within appropriate unit costs for the work proposed.
A. Irrigation System Upgrades Add $10,828.06
B. Electrical Changes Add $6,431.70
C. Miscellaneous Interior Deducts Deduct ($1,207.00)
Total Add $16,052.76
New Contract Total $1,020,477.67
Original Contingency (10%) $98,280.00
Contingency Balance $60,602.33
Conclusion:
The items in the Change Order represent recommended upgrades to best serve the city and staff
using this facility. As noted above CNH Architects, our team, and staff have reviewed the pricing
shown above and are comfortable as being appropriate for the work involved. CNH Architects
recommends approval of this Change Order as in the best interest of staff operations and long-term
City value.
