RECOMMENDED ACTION: Authorize Council approval to hire 2 new firefighters filling
currently existing vacancies.
BACKGROUND
Over the past few months, firefighter applicants Jerome Newton and Joseph Craft have gone through
physical agility testing, completed a written test, participated in an interview process, completed medical
testing and completed background packets that were investigated by the Rosemount Police Department.
Both Newton and Craft have successfully passed each phase of the hiring process and staff is eager to add
them to our fire department.
RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends the hiring of Jerome Newton and Joseph Craft as probationary firefighters effective
November 20, 2019.
