Park Improvement Fund Balance as of December 31, 2019: $1,734,836.17 Inflows to the Park Improvement Fund last month were as follows: Dedication fees — $20,910.00 Grants/Other - $0 Interest - $5,044.16 Donations - $0 Expenditures - $15,042.31(Horseshoe Lake Park and Carroll's Woods Restoration) Special Note - $612,800 in fees have been collected in January of 2020 as of 1 /22/20 we have a Parks Dedication total of $1,347,636.17 HOLIDAY CHEER PARTY FOR SENIORS - Over 110 people attended the 3rd annual Holiday Cheer party at the Steeple Center on the afternoon of Wednesday, December 18th. Guests dined on snacks and holiday treats and then sang, laughed, and even danced along with the Looney Lutherans, who were here to perform their show, "Hold the Lutefisk, It's Beginning to Smell a Lot Like Christmas." It was a great way to celebrate the holiday season, and we received a lot of wonderful feedback about the event. OPEN GYM - The Parks and Recreation department recently added some new equipment to the popular Parent/Tot Open Gym program at the community center. Along with various balls, hula hoops and basketball hoops we have added tunnels, bounce -on balls, balance beams and an obstacle course. Young children will have fun while gaining confidence and a sense of achievement from improved balance, coordination and creativity. This new equipment also develops motor skills and individual and collaborative play skills. The Parent/Tot Open Gym program runs Monday, Wednesday & Friday from 9:30-1lam.
