RECOMMENDED ACTION: Motion to Adopt a Resolution Receiving Plans and
Specifications, and Authorizing the Advertisement for Bids for Connemara Trail, City Project
2018-09.
BACKGROUND
Connemara Trail, City Project 2018-09, will extend the roadway, water and sanitary sewer to the east from
Akron Ave. This project would extend the stormwater trunk main to the east was well.
Advertisements for bid will appear in the city newspaper (Dakota Tribune) and Quest CDN. Bids will be
opened on February 28, 2020. The action to Receive Bids and Award Contract will be at the March 3,
2020 City Council meeting. Construction is proposed to begin in May 2020 and is anticipated to be
substantially complete, excluding wear bituminous course, by late October 2020.
COSTS AND FUNDING
The project construction cost is estimated at $1,853,329 per the table on the next page. Additional costs
for construction administration, including observation, contractor coordination and materials testing, will
be brought to the Council for approval as a separate item.
This project is proposed to be developer-funded by the parties of the Prestwick Place Cost Share
Agreement. The funds are collected in development fees as nearby parcels under the agreement are
developed and platted. Utility core funds will be used for upsizing and trunk facilities.

Staff recommends Council receive plans and specifications and authorize the advertising for bids for
Connemara Trail, City Project 2018-09.

RESOLUTION 2020 – 20
A RESOLUTION RECEIVING THE PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS
AND AUTHORIZING THE ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS FOR
CONNEMARA TRAIL, CITY PROJECT 2018-09
WHEREAS, the plans and specifications for Connemara Trail, City Project 2018-09 have been
presented to this Council for approval:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Rosemount,
Minnesota:
1. Such plans and specifications are hereby approved and ordered placed on file in the office of
the City Clerk.
2. The City Clerk shall prepare and cause to be inserted in the official City newspaper an
advertisement for bids upon the making of such improvements under such approved plans
and specifications for Connemara Trail, City Project 2018-09.
3. The advertisement shall be published in each of said publications at least once not less than
three (3) weeks before the date set for opening bids, specifying the work to be done, stating
the bids will be publicly opened on February 28, 2020 at 9:00 o’clock a.m. at the Rosemount
Steeple Center at 14375 South Robert Trail in said City, and that no bids will be considered
unless sealed and filed with the City Clerk and accompanied by a cash deposit, cashier’s
check, bid bond or certified check payable to the City Clerk for five (5%) percent of the
amount of such bid.
4. Such advertisement for bids is hereby authorized by the Council.
