ATTACHMENTS: None APPROVED BY: ELF RECOMMENDED ACTION: Recognize and Welcome Charles (Chuck) Jacobus on his promotion. BACKGROUND Charles (Chuck) Jacobus has worked for the Public Works Department in the Utilities Division since 2011. During his tenure with the City, Chuck has obtained his Class C Water and Class SC Waste Water Licensure and has completed the APWA Public works Certificate. He has also pursued additional leadership courses and certificate programs to develop skills in the pursuit of personal development and to prepare for a leadership opportunity. The position of Public Works Supervisor responsible for the Streets and Utilities divisions is a newly created position which was approved in the 2020 budget. This position will work in conjunction with Jim Koslowski, our Public Works Supervisor responsible for the Parks, Buildings, and Fleet divisions. After an extensive recruitment process, three candidates (one internal and two external) were selected to be interviewed. Chuck was chosen unanimously by the interview panel and promoted effective Monday, February 10, 2020. Chuck’s professionalism, knowledge, experience in municipal operations and his commitment to personal development make him a great fit for this supervisory role. We congratulate Chuck on his promotion and are excited to present him to the City Council in his new role here at the City.
