RECOMMENDED ACTION: Approval of attached Resolution, Approving LG230
Application to Conduct Off-Site Lawful Gambling by CLIMB Theatre at the Rosemount
Legion.
SUMMARY
CLIMB Theatre has submitted an Application to Conduct Off-Site Gambling, Gambling Control Board
Form LG230, to conduct a raffle in the City of Rosemount. The pull-tabs and bingo will be part of a
fundraiser taking place at the Rosemount Legion on March 15, 2020. While typically a gambling
application may be administratively approved, because CLIMB Theatre has a premise permit elsewhere
their application must be approved by Council Resolution.

RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends approval of the attached Resolution Approving LG230 Application to Conduct Off-
Site Lawful Gambling by CLIMB Theatre at the Rosemount Legion.

RESOLUTION APPROVING LG230 APPLICATION TO
CONDUCT OFF-SITE LAWFUL GAMBLING BY CLIMB
THEATRE AT THE ROSEMOUNT LEGION
WHEREAS, Minnesota Statutes Chapter 349 provides that organizations licensed
by the Gambling Control Board must obtain authority from the Board to conduct lawful
gambling at a specific location. The statute also stipulates that the application will not be
approved unless the organization submits a resolution of approval by the local unit of
government; and
WHEREAS, CLIMB Theatre has submitted an LG230 Application to Conduct Off-
site Gambling at the Rosemount Legion, 14590 Burma Ave West
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of
Rosemount, Minnesota (the “City”), hereby approves the lawful gambling application to
conduct a raffle on March 15, 2020, at the Rosemount Legion.
Adopted by the City Council of the City of Rosemount, Minnesota this 18th day of
February 2020.
