RECOMMENDED ACTION: Discussion only.
DISCUSSION:
With the establishment of the Environment and Sustainability Commission (ESC) by City Council, a
discussion on appropriate goals and objectives for the ESC at this time would be appropriate. As a task
force, the members had several projects and programs underway. A review of those is appropriate to
ensure that the ESC can accomplish its stated direction to advise the City Council.
Some items for possible discussion are:
- Adopt a pond program
- Chlorides in surface and ground water
- Sustainability standards for city facilities
SUMMARY:
No action required; however, a discussion on 2020 goals for the ESC should start in order to set the
course for 2020.
