Skate Park — The bids were recently received and the low bid was awarded the project. We had seven contractors on the plans holders list, and we received four bids. The project cost estimate was $350,000. The bids are listed below. Bidder Bid Price Custom Builders Inc $337,805.00 Artisan Concrete $349,463.35 Spohn Ranch $349,866.54 Global Specialty Contractors $395,017.00 The project should start in mid -May and be completed by late -summer. UMore Dugouts — The UMore dugouts are for the most part complete. The only thing left to do is the site restoration which will include the sodding and seeding of the disturbed areas. Family Resource Center — All internal work has been completed at the FRC. This spring the final lift of asphalt and the exterior caulking will be complete. This will finish out the project. Horseshoe Lake Park — Last summer the contractor working on the Horseshoe Lake Park project had a difficult time establishing turf as called out in the project specifications. They will be bringing in a turf specialist to help them get the turf established and the project closed out this spring. Flint Hills Athletic Complex — This project was closed out in the fall of 2009 and will be open for use this spring. The four new green fields will see soccer, lacrosse and football players on the fields. Staff will soon be putting out the Request for Proposal to add a playground to the site near the sun shelter. Staff expects that later this spring we will be considering working with a designer to possibly add lights to a field at the complex. Staff is also planning to engage and architect to start looking at the construction of a Regional Trail Head/ Restroom building at the complex. Arena Lighting — In January, new LED lighting was added to the Rosemount Ice Rink at the RCC. The lighting went from 25 foot candles to 71 foot candles. It has really been a big difference as far as how bright the ice is compared to before the work. The Rosemount Community Center entrances and parking lot lighting was also upgraded with new LED lighting. Energy savings is projected to be approximately $19,000 per year. Arena Scoreboard — The Rosemount Arena at the RCC is home to a couple of new scoreboards. The original score boards from 1994 were replaced in January. The City again has the First State Bank of Rosemount sponsoring the scoreboard. Carroll's Woods and Schwarz Pond Park Restoration — The restoration work really picked up this past fall and this winter in Carroll's Woods and Schwarz Pond Park. The contracted crews have been busy removing buckthorn and the work has been noticed by many people who visit the park in the winter months. It will be interesting to see the changes once the trees leaf out. Comprehensive Guide Plan (Parks Master Plan) — The Comprehensive Guide plan has been approved by the met Council and the next step is to have the City Council pass a resolution approving the City's implementation of the plan.
