RECOMMENDED ACTION: Motion to adopt resolutions to include Environment & Sustainability
Commission.
BACKGROUND
The Environment and Sustainability Commission (ESC) was established by the City Council in February 4,
2020. To comply with the other Rosemount Commissions two resolutions need to be updated to include
ESC; a resolution authorizing personal accident insurance and workers’ compensation insurance for
appointed commission members (Resolution 2002-10) and a resolution establishing commission and
committee member per diem pay (Resolution 1992-141).
If approved, The Environment and Sustainability Commission will align with the other Rosemount
Commissions.
RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends the Council approve a resolution authorizing personal accident insurance and workers’
compensation insurance for appointed commission members and a resolution establishing commission
and committee member per diem pay to include Environment & Sustainability Commission.

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PERSONAL ACCIDENT INSURANCE AND
WORKERS’ COMPENSATION INSURANCE FOR APPOINTED COMMISSION
MEMBERS
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, pursuant to Minnesota Statutes Section 176.011,
Subdivision 9, Clause 6, officials appointed for a regular term of office or appointed to complete the
unexpired portion of a regular term for the City of Rosemount (limited to the Parks and Recreation
Commission, Planning Commission, Port Authority, Utility Commission and Environment and
Sustainable Commission) are herby included in coverage of the Minnesota Worker’s Compensation
Act that the City Council of the City of Rosemount herby adopts the amended Plan Document
effective as of March 17, 2020.

RESOLUTION 2020 - 36
A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING COMMISSION MEMBER PER DIEM PAY
WHEREAS, many Rosemount residents serve their community by giving of their time and energy
acting as members of standing commissions; and
WHEREAS, these residents receive minimum pay only for their attendance at required meetings;
and
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, City Commission per diem pay will be $35 for each
of the following commissions; Parks & Recreation, Planning, Port Authority, Utilities and
Environmental and Sustainable Commission for attendance at their commission regularly scheduled
and special meetings.
