Minutes of the April 1, 2020 Special Work Session ProceedingsROSEMOUNT CITY COUNCIL SPECIAL WORK SESSION PROCEEDINGS APRIL 1, 2020 CALL TO ORDER Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a special work session of the Rosemount City Council was held on Wednesday, April 1, at 7:00 pm virtually via Zoom. Mayor Droste called the meeting to order with Councilmember Block, Essler and Freske. Staff present included City Administrator Logan Martin and Chief of Police Dahlstrom. DISCUSSION 2.a. COVID-19 Update City Administrator Martin discussed the current status of staff and discussed the potential plans upcoming weeks. Items discussed were staff workloads, federal policies, and budget impacts. Chief of Police Dahlstrom provided an update on the current calls, statistics of COVID-19 and briefed council on the precautions the police department are taking during this time. Councilmembers requested staff to present the budget impact should things continue to remain closed. Staff will provide follow up details and present at a future work session. UPDATES 3.a. Council & Staff Updates Councilmember Freske questioned whether Leprechaun Days will occur and also questioned if other councilmembers received complaints regarding lack of fiber in certain areas within the city. Councilmember Weisensel stated DCC declared emergency. Councilmember Block confirmed the special meeting that was to be held on April 14th is cancelled. Councilmember Essler questioned the status of the cleanup at Carrol Woods. Mayor Droste recapped the status update of Hope Fieldhouse. ADJOURNMENT There being no further business to come before the City Council and upon a motion by Droste, second by Essler, the meeting was unanimously adjourned at 8:51pm.
